Orange-bellied Leafbird ( Chloropsis hardwickii ) 18 - 20 cm

The most colorful of the 5 species of Leafbirds found in Malaysian forests and which prefer a montane environment. The male adult have a bright orange plumage for it's belly which also became it's namesake.

The male have yellowish-orange breast and vent. The female yellowish-orange abdomen-centre/undertail-coverts, broad purplish-blue malar. Juvenile have light-green below, little-blue on malar, no blue on shoulder. Ref: Birds of S E Asia, Craig Robson

Habita are broadleaved evergreen forests up to 2000 - 2135 meters above sea level.
