After having spent a good 45 minutes in a birding spot at Bkt Tinggi I decided it's time to check out other areas in this montane region, 3500 ft above sea level. And just as I turned I sensed a large shadow glide towards a leafless tree in front of me. It decided to perch on one of the branches and at the same time the feathers on it's crown stood up when it caught a strong gust of wind blowing through the tree top. It was an Oriental Honey Buzzard! What luck!!! It perched on the same branch it landed for a good 15 minutes, allowing me time to quickly take a few quick shots before I moved to higher ground to get a clear view of this majestic raptor.
