Hill Mynas ( Gracula religiosa ), 27 - 31 cm

The Hill Myna is as rare as the Common Myna as the latter's name implies is common. The presence of Hill Mynas is quite easily established as it has a variety of loud and almost piercing albeit melodious calls. These calls could continue for the whole duration these birds are present in the vicinity. Their preference to perch on leafless tree branches high above the ground makes it a challenge for bird photographers. However once digitally capture they make good photo subjects.
