The Grey-capped Pygmy Woodpecker (D. canicapillus) 14 cm

My encounter with the pair of lovely Grey-capped Pygmy Woodpeckers was indeed quite unexpected. In fact I was totally surprised when both flew in and almost immediately started foraging. During my numerous visits to this city park I have never seen them. The Common Flame-backed, Banded and Rufuous Woodpeckers have been sighted on a number of occasions.

Here are some photos for sharing.

Have a fruitful day! Cheers!
